Banner explanation

The DevilI recieved an email this morning from my lovely blogging wife.

I have no idea what my banner means. Seriously. I don’t get it.

Well, let this be a warning to you folks. Filling your brain with nothing but slapstick comedy like Joe Dirt will rot your brain, people.

See, it’s a reference to Mephistopheles, the “Devil”. Without “ME”, (ME)phistopheles becomes phistopheles.

Like I told her, it’s thinking man’s comedy.

I haven’t watched Joe Dirt in a very long time.

Do you think Joe Dirt would get this one? Me neither.

I heard it in a song once, “Mephistopheles is not your name….but I know what you’re up to just the same. I will listen hard to your tuition. You will see it come to its fruition…”
So? Name that tune?

Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gotten it either lol

Maybe you should dumb it down a bit and use the one I like so much that Riley told me about…

Without “ME” it’s just “Aweso”.

:):)

To answer Tammy H above, I believe that would be the Police. Wrapped Around Your Finger would be the tune.
One of my favorites.
And if there was voting I would go with angels suggestion above over the demon guy. But that’s just me.

Now see, I was going to share with you my aweso/me shirt, and Angel had to go and beat me to it. But I acknowledge she gave me credit. As such, I have no choice but to say that The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus was one of the less impressive reads I was subjected to in high school. I attended a performance of it, and the man/whoa-man who portrayed Mephistopheles scares me to this very day. I ‘m not sure, but there could be a link between the two previous remarks.
